SailPoint IdentityIQ / Technical Analyst Consultant
Hybride
We are seeking a senior SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) L3 / Technical Expert to lead development, integration, upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and technical governance across on-premises and cloud SailPoint platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering, L3 production support, and technical leadership of a distributed development team.
The successful candidate will translate business and security requirements into scalable IAM solutions while ensuring platform stability, security, performance, and maintainability. The role partners closely with architects, product owners, analysts, cybersecurity, infrastructure, HR, ITSM, and application teams.
Onsite presence required in Durham, North Carolina.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) development and IAM/identity governance experience, including complex enterprise implementations and L3 support — primary requirement
- SailPoint on-premise experience is essential; working knowledge of SailPoint Identity Security Cloud/IdentityNow, cloud connectors and APIs, and IIQ-to-cloud migration concepts, as the organization plans to move toward the cloud in the future
- Deep knowledge of IIQ architecture, object model, Java APIs, BeanShell, workflows, rules, tasks, identity lifecycle management, provisioning, aggregation, role management, access requests, and certifications
- Proven experience leading major IIQ upgrades and quarterly release cycles, including customization and connector assessment, remediation, regression testing, cutover, rollback, and post-upgrade validation
- Strong Java/J2EE, XML, JSON, JavaScript, SQL, regular expressions, API, debugging, performance optimization, and secure-coding skills
- Experience with REST/SOAP services, SCIM, JDBC, LDAP, Active Directory/Entra ID, SSO and federation, HR platforms, ServiceNow, SAP, and file-based integrations
- Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, automated testing and deployment, Linux/Unix, application servers, JVM troubleshooting, certificates, monitoring, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Sound knowledge of procedures, standards, and regulations for authorization and authentication, applied cryptography, and security vulnerabilities
- Healthcare or medical industry experience preferred; experience in a GxP-regulated environment is a strong asset, particularly within a regulated SailPoint/IAM environment
- Ability to lead autonomously across global/remote teams, mentor developers, manage priorities, and solve complex problems, with reliable delivery and proactive, consistent communication
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; ability to bridge technical and business requirements; collaborative and comfortable engaging stakeholders rather than operating in isolation
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering: Design, configure, customize, and maintain IIQ solutions, including workflows, rules, lifecycle events, provisioning, certifications, policies, connectors, and Java/API-based extensions
- Integration: Build and support integrations with HR systems, Active Directory/Entra ID, ServiceNow, SAP, security platforms, databases, and enterprise applications using REST, SOAP, SCIM, JDBC, LDAP, files, and event-based patterns
- Upgrades and modernization: Lead platform upgrades, patches, migrations, impact assessments, remediation, test and rollback planning, performance validation, and adoption of SailPoint Identity Security Cloud capabilities
- L3 support and quality: Resolve complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, improve monitoring and automated testing, and reduce recurring incidents and manual operations
- Technical leadership: Guide distributed developers, review designs and code, establish reusable standards, estimate work, manage technical risks, and mentor the team
- Architecture and governance: Ensure solutions follow enterprise IAM, cybersecurity, data-protection, coding, and architecture standards within the context of applicable regulatory frameworks; reduce technical debt and maintain essential documentation
- Stakeholder collaboration: Translate business requirements into practical, functional/technical solutions comprehensible to the project team; communicate risks, changes, and issues clearly to project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders; identify opportunities for automation and improved user experience
- Requirements & documentation: Track requirements status throughout the project lifecycle, develop and utilize standard templates for requirements specifications, and maintain Knowledge Base articles related to IGA processes and technical configurations
Employment & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science from a recognized institution preferred
- Master's degree a plus
- Certification in IAM or SailPoint preferred
- Work authorization required
- Job Type: Contract position, 12 months
- Location: On-site – Durham/Raleigh, NC | (occasional remote)
