Job Summary
We are looking for an Electrical Installation & Commissioning Engineer with 3–4 years of experience in BIW automation projects. The candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, field wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of BIW production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and supervise electrical installation activities for BIW robotic lines.
- Installation and commissioning of control panels, robot panels, junction boxes, field devices, sensors, and safety devices.
- Supervise cable laying, cable dressing, termination, and continuity checks.
- Read and understand EPLAN/electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
- Installation and testing of PLC, HMI, VFD, remote I/O, RFID, safety devices, and network components.
- Support ABB robot electrical connections and commissioning.
- Perform I/O checking, loop checking, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
- Support commissioning of weld guns, tip dressers, conveyors, fixtures, grippers, and other BIW equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control-related issues during dry runs and production trials.
- Coordinate with PLC, robotics, mechanical, welding, and customer teams.
- Coordinate and supervise electrical subcontractors and technicians.
- Support shutdown activities, line trials, ramp-up, and production handover.
- Ensure all activities are completed safely, as per drawings, quality requirements, and project schedule.
- Prepare daily progress reports, punch-point lists, and commissioning documentation.
Required Skills
- 3–4 years of experience in industrial electrical installation and commissioning, preferably in BIW.
- Good knowledge of industrial electrical panels, control wiring, sensors, motors, VFDs, and safety circuits.
- Basic knowledge of PLC and automation systems.
- Good understanding of 24VDC control circuits and 3-phase power distribution.
- Ability to read EPLAN/electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, or Profibus is an advantage.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of machine and electrical safety.
- Willingness to work at customer sites and during shutdowns/extended shifts.
Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Preferred Experience
Experience in Automotive BIW, robotic welding lines, ABB robots, Siemens/Allen-Bradley PLC systems, weld controllers, and automated production lines will be an added advantage.
