DevOps Engineer — Ansible, Jenkins, Bash/Python & Automation — Finance

As part of the reinforcement of a Technology & Operations team supporting critical infrastructures in an international environment, an organisation operating within the financial markets sector is looking for a DevOps Engineer.
The assignment will involve close collaboration with Architecture, Development, Integration and Operations teams. The consultant will contribute to the automation, reliability and continuous improvement of technical processes, with a particular focus on configuration management, CI/CD pipelines and operational scripting.
The consultant will work in an English-speaking environment and will be expected to use artificial intelligence tools on a daily basis to improve productivity, automate tasks and support development and operational activities.
Mission and expected deliverables
The consultant will be responsible for:
Creating, maintaining and optimising Ansible playbooks and roles
Reviewing, improving and documenting existing automation, including legacy scripts
Designing, maintaining and enhancing Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and deployment
Developing and maintaining Jenkinsfiles and reliable CI/CD workflows
Writing Bash and Python scripts to automate operational tasks and support development processes
Supporting Development and Integration teams in the industrialisation of their workflows
Identifying opportunities to improve and standardise DevOps practices
Using generative AI tools to accelerate code production, technical analysis and documentation
Applying effective prompting techniques to leverage generative AI solutions
Reviewing and validating AI-generated code, scripts and technical recommendations
Managing and tracking activities, requests and actions through Jira
Producing and maintaining technical and operational documentation
Promoting DevOps best practices and fostering collaboration across technical teams
Optionally supporting and enhancing AWS cloud infrastructure
Expected deliverables may include:
Ansible playbooks and reusable roles
Bash and Python automation scripts
Jenkins pipelines and Jenkinsfiles
Technical and operational documentation
Improved and standardised automation processes
Jira updates and progress tracking
Recommendations for optimising existing DevOps practices
Required skills and experience
The consultant should have:
At least three years of experience in a similar DevOps, automation or infrastructure role
Strong experience with Ansible, including playbook and role creation and maintenance
Proven expertise in designing and managing Jenkins pipelines
Good scripting skills in Bash and Python
Good knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools
Experience maintaining and improving existing or legacy automation scripts
Experience working with multiple technical teams
Experience using Jira in an Agile or project-based environment
Daily experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot or equivalent
Good understanding of prompt engineering and AI-assisted development
Good knowledge of AWS is considered a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international environment
Fluency in English is mandatory
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
