Chrono Innovation is looking for a Java Software Developer to join our team working on Harris-CHR (also known as Arc), a next-generation Connected Health Record (CHR) platform. This solution unifies a patient’s complete medical history into a single, secure, and accessible record for authorized healthcare providers — an evolution of traditional Electronic Health Records (EHRs).
As part of the Order Reconciliation team, you’ll help design, build, and maintain software ensuring the most accurate and complete list of patient orders (especially medications), preventing errors and supporting patient safety. The Software Developer plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications within their squad. This role requires strong technical expertise, an ability to solve complex problems, and a focus on high-quality code delivery.
The Developer collaborates closely with the Principal Developer and Tech Lead, contributing to technical decisions and mentoring less experienced developers.

Estimated start : August 24th
Based in Montréal : Presence required upon request only (exceptional)
English mandatory (french is a plus)
HEALTH CARE EXPERIENCE (is a plus)
Key Responsibilities :

Contribute to the implementation of FHIR-based data models and APIs for data exchange and interoperability.
Collaborate with frontend developers (Angular 19) and other backend engineers to design cohesive, high-performing solutions.
Participate in order reconciliation workflows, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and patient safety in medical data.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with unit and integration testing.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
Participate in agile ceremonies, technical discussions, and peer code reviews.
Document software designs, APIs, and implementation decisions to ensure maintainability and transparency.
Technical Skills
Strong experience in Java (Java 17 preferred) and solid understanding of backend frameworks (Micronaut, Spring Boot, or equivalent).
Experience with REST APIs, FHIR standards, and secure data exchange in healthcare or other regulated environments.
Familiarity with Angular or another modern frontend framework is an asset.
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile development workflows.
Understanding of software architecture principles, including scalability, performance, and security.
Experience working with relational databases and ORM tools (e.g., Hibernate, JPA).
